School Priorities – 2018/19

The school will be focussing on these key areas over the course of this academic year:

Priority 1: Reading

To develop reading skills throughout the school. Audit all reading resources and ensure all children are reading at the appropriate level. Purchase new reading materials to ensure that every child has a wide range of reading material both fiction and non-fiction that challenges and enthuses them.

Priority 2: Resilience

Children are able to deal with any kind of problem and show resilience at all times. They can effectively problem solve and can use a range of strategies to help them overcome challenges. This is reflected in their academic progress. Children at Hartpury are able to understand where they are in the learning process and are able to identify their next steps in learning and how they are going to achieve them.

Priority 3: Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education is fully embedded within the schools bespoke curriculum and enhances learning appropriately in all areas of the curriculum. Every child in the school is confident at working in the new poly tunnel and understands its value to them and the school/environment. Children make clear links between growing food and using the produce to grow healthy food.

Priority 4: Pupil Premium

Develop a role of Pupil Premium Co-ordinator within Hartpury school. Ensure Pupil Premium pupils make good progress and achieve to the best of their abilities in all areas such as academic, social and pastoral. Ensure the individual needs of each Pupil Premium child are fully met.
