Christmas Cheer

Hartpury School Choir were able to share their Christmas cheer at two very different events in the local community this year. First, they attended the carol service at Hartpury College where they sang three songs, as well as joining in the carols. It was wonderful to join with the staff and students and this year was extra special as the current College Youth Chaplin is a former Hartpury C of E Primary School pupil.

A few days later we headed for Deanwood Lodge, the local nursing home in Maisemore that specialises in dementia care. We sang a host of carols and songs for the residents and it was wonderful to see many joining in happily with many of the familiar carols. We then toured the corridors singing, to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents who were bedridden. On arrival back in the residents lounge, we were surprised by Father Christmas who had popped in to give the children a lovely thank you gift of some sweets. As well as giving the residents some joy, all the children felt it had been a very valuable experience for them and they are looking forward to visiting next year already!
