Big Write Night

Yesterday evening approximately 30 families joined us for Big Write Night. The hall, decorated with lanterns and a bonfire made by Class 1, provided a stimulating atmosphere for writing. Just like the children do in Big Write lessons, we began the evening by playing a selection of games designed to develop vocabulary and punctuation. The children then listened around the bonfire as Bill Church entertained them with one of his own stories. The highlight of the evening was seeing parents and children enjoy writing their own stories and poems together. Armed with hot chocolate and torches, we finished by sharing our writing around a real bonfire on the school field.
