For their art unit "Can we change places?" Class 3 began by looking at the work of British artist Sally Mathews. They then decided they would like to make a sculpture that could be sited just outside the classroom so it could be seen from inside as well as outside. Lots of ideas for designs were discussed before they agreed upon the stag.

The fun started when they actually began to make the sculpture out of straw and mud! The sculpture has a wooden skeleton that was covered in wire mesh. It was then stuffed with straw and covered with a thick layer of mud. The sculpture was left to dry before being put in position.
