24 May 2012 - Olympic torch relay visits Hartpury

Please note the following change of timings to the normal school day.

We have been notified that there will be extensive road closures that morning, some of which will be in place from as early as 6.00am. The A417 will be subject to a "rolling closure" either side of the convoy and it is uncertain at what time and for how long the road will be closed.

Obviously there is the potential for widespread travel complications, although it is hard to anticipate exactly how much disruption there will be. For this reason the school day will be starting one hour earlier than normal.

Please note, the school bus will also be operating one hour earlier that morning.

7.50am Teacher on duty in the playground for the start of the school day.

8.00am Registration in Class.

8.30am School set off on foot to Post Office drive entrance.

8.40am School in place at Post Office drive entrance.

9.25am Olympic Torch Relay.

9.35am Return to School.

9.45am Friends' Olympic Breakfast in School Hall.

12.15pm Lunch.

2.15pm Schools day ends.

As the school day will have started an hour early, it will also be ending an hour earlier than normal. Supervision will be provided for any pupils who require care up to 3.15pm.

Please could parents ensure they have returned the information slip to school indicating the intended arrival and departure times for children on Thursday 24th May.
