Hartpury Church of England School

Our school is proud of our Church of England heritage and fosters a Christian ethos to encourage children's spiritual and moral development.  Our vision statement is at the heart of everything we do "To ensure that every child receives the highest quality education that is their right, in an environment that works hard to develop, support and care for all its members, with people who foster mutual respect and encouragement in accordance with Christian teaching."

Take a tour of our school

Our school has a modern building which opened in November 1999 on a lovely site near the centre of the village.  The gates to the site that you can see on the photograph were built as part of an arts grant that also provided us with a unique carved reception desk, a stained glass window in our hall and a leaf patterned carpet that all follow the theme of the oak tree - our school emblem.  The building is light and airy and has been expanded to include a purpose built library and extra workroom known as the study.  The grounds are now becoming more established and include a quiet area, adventure playground and extensive playing fields with a sectioned wildlife area and our recently constructed spiritual gardenwhihc the children named 'The Gateway to Freedom' as they felt that once in there you left all your troubles behind.

We have thought long and hard about the aims of our school and what we want children to know, understand, do and feel while they are at Hartpury and how we want to develop as a learning community.  These aims are published in our prospectus and parent handbook.
